The Color Purple

Today is LGBTQ Spirit Day. A show of solidarity for gay youth and a memoriam for those who have taken their own lives due to bullying. Participants are asked to show support by wearing something purple.

But more than that it's a call to action. It's starts by showing your colors it finishes with all of us putting the pressure on everybody from school boards on up to Congress to make sure gay kids are protected and looked out for. It's not letting teachers and principals look the other way because gay youth aren't covered under anti-bullying policies and laws. And it's saying to any religious objection how can they square their bigotry with the very frightening words "I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."

And finally, let's hear what Guitar Wolf has to say on the subject.

Thank you Guitar Wolf.
